Door of Hope Course

 An encouraging and supportive program for women survivors of sexual abuse.  In an environment of love, acceptance and confidentiality.  Participants will begin to develop new strategies for living and find healing from the struggles of life.

Commencing the first week of may for Term 2.

Community Visitors Scheme

Could you be a friend to a lonely person?

Volunteer visitors are needed to visit isolated or lonely residents in local nursing facilities.  It is a great was to support the elderly and only takes 1 hour a fortnight.

ACTS (Australian Care & Trauma Services) Inc. is a Christian not-for-profit organisation which seeks to display the love of Christ in a visible and practical way to the general community.

ACTS Inc. provides care and assistance for the relief of suffering, distress, misfortune and to enhance the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being of people, in the communities of South-East Queensland, without discrimination due to age, sex, race, ethnic background, religion, political beliefs or marital status.

Services include (but not exclusively) the provision of:

  • Programs and Training for youth & children (self-esteem & confidence building)
  • Visitation and support of lonely or isolated people including vulnerable older and/or disabled people
  • Services to the long-term unemployed
  • Crisis and trauma support and counselling services
  • Crisis accommodation and rehabilitation services and facilities
  • And other activities to be developed in response to identified needs in the community

A network of like-minded churches have joined ACTS and the Board members are drawn from these churches.

Albany Hills Christian Church also provides help if people require counselling or professional & crisis referral.
